FAQs

  • I used to dance quite regularly, but I fell in love with ballet late in the game as an adult. I started taking an adult beginner ballet class in my early twenties and fell utterly in love with it. I went from one class a week to three classes a week, obsessively practicing the little routines the instructors gave us. I took part in end of year performances and eventually worked my way up to a level where I was allowed to dance on pointe (they don’t tend to let you do that day one since most new dancers don’t have the ankle strength—so this was a very exciting day for me!!) In terms of experiences, I’ve certainly had plenty of moments of messing up in the studio (and on stage) and waiting anxiously in the wings to draw from.

  • Cold querying, and an incredible amount of luck! I looked at Manuscript Wishlist, Publishers Marketplace, Twitter stalked and used the reports within Query Tracker to find agents who represented my genre and who I thought might be interested in my work.
